Equine America Glucosamine HCl 12,000 Xtra Strength – 1kg is a powdered joint-support supplement for horses and ponies, including older horses and those in regular work. It combines glucosamine hydrochloride with MSM and hyaluronic acid to provide nutritional support for cartilage, connective tissue and normal joint-fluid function.

Active ingredients and analysis

Each 30g serving supplies 12,000mg glucosamine HCl, 1,650mg MSM and 9mg hyaluronic acid. The manufacturer's composition lists dextrose, glucosamine hydrochloride, methylsulphonylmethane (MSM) and hyaluronic acid. Analytical constituents include 18.2% crude protein and 10.3% crude ash. Glucosamine HCl is the stated form: do not confuse the 12,000mg HCl amount with 12,000mg of pure glucosamine.

Feeding guide

For a 500kg horse, feed 30g daily for the first 10 days, then reduce to 15g daily if the desired response is maintained. At the 15g maintenance amount, a 1kg tub provides approximately 66 days' supply. Add to the regular feed.
